Houston Independent School District (HISD) Board member Elizabeth Santos visited North Side High School on Thursday May 23rd. She met with kitchen staff who are all members of Local 100. They demanded to know why their hours were cut back to 6 1/2 hours a day from their usual 7 hours a day. These woman have children to raise, Our Union doesn’t believe that our school district should balance the budget on the backs of our babies.
